Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 23

Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 23 is the point of no return. Before Yuji’s eyes, Mahito transfigures Junpei into a grotesque monster and sets him loose. Yuji begs Sukuna to undo it, but the King of Curses only laughs at the boy’s naivety. Junpei dies in Yuji’s arms asking for help that never comes, and something inside Yuji breaks forever.

What rises from that grief is pure, cold rage. Yuji turns on Mahito with murder in his eyes, and the curse, thrilled, finally gets the fight he always wanted. No more ideals and no more mercy: this is a battle fueled by hatred alone. The chapter marks the death of Yuji’s innocence and the birth of a sorcerer who kills.
