Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 1 introduces Yuji Itadori, an ordinary high school student with extraordinary physical strength. After his grandfather passes away, Yuji is told to use his strength to help others. Meanwhile, his friends in the school’s occult club unseal a cursed object — a rotting finger belonging to Ryomen Sukuna, the King of Curses — which draws powerful curses to the school.

When the jujutsu sorcerer Megumi Fushiguro arrives to recover the finger, Yuji swallows it to save Megumi from a curse and becomes Sukuna’s vessel. But instead of losing control, Yuji suppresses Sukuna’s will, shocking everyone present. At the end of Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 1, the mysterious Satoru Gojo appears, setting the stage for Yuji’s entry into the dangerous world of jujutsu sorcery.
